04 Why PLA

The friendliest plastic on your print bed.

What makes it great.

PLA prints reliably on virtually every desktop machine. Low warp, no enclosure required, minimal odor, and forgiving of slicer settings. It's where most prints start — and where most failed prints come from.

  • Easy first-layer adhesion on glass, PEI, or textured plates
  • Sharp detail and clean overhangs at moderate speeds
  • Plant-derived feedstock, fully recycled in-house
  • Tight diameter tolerance for consistent extrusion

Best for, and not for.

PLA is ideal for prototypes, models, display pieces, indoor mechanical parts, miniatures, and anything that doesn't need to live in a hot car. It softens around 60°C, so for outdoor or load-bearing parts, look at PETG, ABS, or ASA instead.

  • Prototypes, models, miniatures, and decorative prints
  • Indoor jigs, fixtures, and low-stress mechanical parts
  • Avoid: hot cars, direct sun, structural loads
  • Avoid: parts subject to ongoing flex or impact
