The fine print, kept short.

Three things every depositor and customer should know before sending us material or redeeming points: how stuff gets to us, what happens if something goes wrong, and the rules of the road.

Shipping & pickup.

Drop-off / Free

By appointment in Tyler, TX.

Email us to schedule. Bring it by, get credited on the spot.

Mail-in / You ship

Pack it, ship it, we'll log it.

Pack scrap securely in any box and use the carrier of your choice. Include your deposit form confirmation number inside the box. We log and credit within 3–5 business days of arrival.

Local pickup / 5 kg+

Free within ~30 miles of Tyler.

Schedule via the deposit form (check the "request pickup" box). Smaller volumes welcome at drop-off.

Collection bins

For studios & makerspaces.

If your team generates 10 kg+ per month, we'll drop off a labeled bin and swap it on a regular cadence. Email us to set it up.

Outbound shipping

50 points flat, free over 200.

Recycled filament ships via USPS Ground Advantage in the continental U.S. Shipping costs 50 points on orders under 200 points, and is free on orders of 200 points or more. Free local pickup in Tyler — just let us know in the order notes.

Tracking

Emailed the moment your order ships.

Once we hand the package to USPS, your order status flips to "shipped" on your account page and a confirmation email with the tracking number is sent to the address on file. No manual follow-up required.

If something goes wrong.

Points

Not refundable for cash.

Material credit only. Points don't expire as long as your account is active.

Damaged spools

14-day window, your call.

If a spool arrives damaged or won't print due to a manufacturing defect, email us within 14 days of delivery with photos and your order number. We'll replace it or refund the points — your choice.

Wrong material

We'll always reach out first.

If we identify contamination or a non-accepted material in your batch, we'll either credit only the usable portion, or contact you to arrange return at your expense. We'll always reach out before discarding anything over 250 g.

Lost in transit

Tracked both ways.

If a package is lost in transit to us, we can't credit material we never received — please use a tracked service for valuable batches. If a redemption shipment is lost en route to you, your tracking email will show it; reply to that email or contact us within 30 days and we'll replace it at our cost.

Terms of service.

By submitting a deposit or redeeming points with EcoSpool, you agree to the following.

  1. i.
    Eligibility

    You must be 18+ or have a parent/guardian submit on your behalf. By depositing material, you confirm it is yours to give and is not stolen, hazardous, or mixed with non-thermoplastic waste.

  2. ii.
    Accepted material

    We accept clean, sorted, unfilled PLA, PETG, ABS, and ASA. We do not accept carbon-fiber, glass-fiber, or other filled composites. We reserve the right to refuse, downgrade, or decline credit for any batch that is contaminated, mislabeled, or unsafe.

  3. iii.
    Points

    Points are a record of in-store credit. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be redeemed for anything other than EcoSpool products and services. We may adjust point rates with 30 days' notice; existing balances are honored at the rate in effect when earned.

  4. iv.
    Recycled filament

    Our recycled spools are made from post-consumer scrap. Color, finish, and print characteristics may vary slightly between batches. Spec sheets are available on each product page. We do not guarantee compatibility with every printer or application — test before committing to production runs.

  5. v.
    Shipping & tracking

    Orders ship via USPS Ground Advantage from Tyler, TX. Shipping is 50 points on orders under 200 points, free on orders of 200+ points, or free for local pickup. We aren't responsible for delays caused by the carrier, but we'll do our best to help track and resolve issues. Tracking numbers are emailed automatically once the order is marked shipped.

  6. vi.
    Violations & enforcement

    If we determine that you've violated these terms — including but not limited to submitting non-yours, stolen, or hazardous material; attempting to fraudulently claim points or redemptions; or abusive conduct toward staff — we may, at our discretion: pause or close your account, void earned points, refuse future deposits or redemptions, and recover costs (including shipping and disposal of rejected material). In serious cases involving fraud, theft, or threats, we may also report the matter to law enforcement. We'll generally reach out first when something looks off, unless doing so isn't safe or practical.

  7. vii.
    Liability

    EcoSpool's total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the order or deposit in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including failed prints, lost time, or downstream product issues.

  8. viii.
    Account & data

    We collect only what's needed to run your account: name, email, deposit history, and shipping address when relevant. We don't sell or share your data. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.

  9. ix.
    Changes

    We may update these policies as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here and announced via the newsletter. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
